Who we are
Reason Studios have been pioneers in the music industry since the dawn of the classic loop editor ReCycle and ReBirth, which emulated the TB-303 Roland Bass Line and TR-808 Drum Machine hardware. Our software has played a crucial role in electronic music and hip-hop ever since then.
At Reason Studios we are passionate about music! The office is often buzzing with discussions about beats, tunes and music making. Every so often you will see somebody - visiting artists or one of our employees - cranking out tunes in our own music studio.
Our passion for music also means we have close relationships with our end-users and regularly interact with musicians and producers world-wide. We want to make it easier for them to make great music.
We are respected in the industry, but still a small, yet independent team. This means that you instantly become an important part in our mission to reimagine the music making.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced C++ Developer to join our Desktop application team. You will be collaborating closely with the team consisting of developers, the Tech Lead and the Product Owner.
At Reason Studios, we value teamwork and collaboration, and you will get the opportunity to be a part of the big change happening at Reason right now. We can’t wait to hear what ideas you have and how you can contribute to making Reason the first hand choice when it comes to software for music development.
You will be part of all phases of development - from the initial research and discovery phases up until release. You will be spending a good part of your time moving our software architecture and technical design forward. You will take part of the project planning. And you will of course implement the required features and the enabling technology behind it!
This is a chance to work on a renowned, innovative music studio application together with experienced developers, applying modern and efficient technologies while keeping the quality at an industry leading level.
Who are you?
Our heart is in music making but let's be clear - making a great music making product means a lot more than DSP programming. We are looking for a generalist happy to dive into almost any area - the projects range between enabling technology and user facing functionality - always having the architectural picture and real-time performance demands in mind.
You have a solid experience in developing applications for end users. You know the ins and outs of C++ and are familiar with the evolution of the language. You’re curious and happy to discuss software architecture and can visualize your ideas clearly, engaging other developers.
You are comfortable in both spoken and written English.
We think you have experience in:
- C++ (other languages is a plus)
- Desktop applications
- Software architecture and design
- Either (or both) Mac or Windows SDKs.
It is a great bonus if you have skills in:
- Multithreading and real-time programming
Why should you join us?
We know what sparks innovation, and therefore we have many means of letting our employees explore new routes, work on a solution they are excited about – or simply spend time on that dream project.
Being part of our team also means getting a chance to work with advanced technical architecture, state of the art digital signal processing and the latest in digital marketing. And working with engaged and talented people in an inspiring and vibrant atmosphere!
If you’re passionate about music and restless for new ideas, we’re ready to take you where you want to go—and beyond.
